Celebrate “Pączki Day” 2023: Indulge in Traditional Polish Doughnuts
As the winter holiday season ends, Poles seek out pączki, traditional deep-fried doughnuts filled with sweet fillings like blueberry, apricot, custard, plum, raspberry and strawberry. However, the tradition of Fat Thursday has spread beyond Poland’s borders and is now celebrated in the United States as “Pączki Day” on Fat Tuesday.
Ela Wienke, the acting manager at American Polish Cultural Center, is dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Polish culture. One way she does this is by ensuring that the authentic recipe for pączki is available to those who want to experience the true taste of this beloved treat. As the acting manager, she continues to offer the original recipe for pączki, ensuring that those who visit the center can experience the authentic taste of these deep-fried doughnuts filled with sweet fillings such as blueberry, apricot, custard, plum, raspberry and strawberry. This helps to keep the tradition alive and share it with the wider community. Additionally, American Polish Cultural Center is a great place to learn more about Polish culture, history, and customs.
Pączki Day 2023 is Tuesday, February 21. Get your pączki at American Polish Cultural Center.
