To celebrate his extraordinary talent and lasting impact on world cinematography\, we are bringing the festivities to our local community. \nPlease join us on April 18th for “A Movie Night with Andrzej Wajda.” We will be hosting a large-scale projection of his final masterpiece\, Afterimage (Powidoki). The film will be presented in Polish with English subtitles. \nAdmission is FREE\, but because space is limited\, we kindly ask that you RSVP to secure your seat. \nDrinks and finger bite food will be available for purchase. \nA heartfelt thank you to our partners for their collaborative efforts in making this evening possible: The Kosciuszko Foundation (Michigan Chapter)\, the Polish-American Federal Credit Union\, and the American Polish Cultural Society. \nA little about the movie: \nRunning time: 1h 38m \nFrom a medical perspective—or more specifically\, through the eyes of an ophthalmologist—the term “Afterimage”refers to images that linger in one’s field of vision even after looking away from an object. For example\, if you stare at a bright lightbulb and then turn away\, you will continue to see its outline for several seconds\, often in contrasting colors. This is an afterimage. \nAfterimage is the final film by the master of Polish cinema\, Andrzej Wajda.
